Man Commits Suicide After Killing His Four Children, Sister-In-Law

The Police have confirmed that a middle aged man, Stephen Nnadiogo, has committed suicide by drinking poison after stabbing his four children and sister-in-law to death at Awada  area of  Onitsha in Anambra State.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Divisional Police Officer of Awada, Martin Chijioke, said the police command had begun investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to the murder.

Don’t listen to “empty barrel elite’’, Lamido tells Buhari

The Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo, advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to listen to the call by some “empty barrel Nigerian elite’’ that he should not seek a re-election.

Irked by calls by some notable Nigerians that Buhari should not seek a re-election, Barkindo said on Tuesday in Yola that Buhari has achieved a lot and should proceed to seek for a second term.

Police parades 13 cyber crime suspects, recovers over N90m worth of drugs

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edgal Imohimi, on Tuesday, paraded 13 suspects arrested for cross border and cyber crime and recovered over N90m worth of drugs. The CP, who was addressing journalists at the command, said the cross border crime suspects were all Beninois, specialised in snatching exotic cars in Nigeria and driving it to Benin Republic to sell.

Imohimi, while narrating how a victim’s car was snatched by the gang at gun point, said the victim had gone to use an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) when his Toyota Prado jeep was taken.

We Paid DSS, Others N1m To Clear 661 Guns – Suspect

The trial of five men who were charged with illegal importation of 661 pump-action guns continued on Monday, with the first defendant, Mahmud Hassan, alleging that the gang paid N1 million to security agents to smuggle in the gun consignment at the Apapa Port, Lagos.

Hassan made the allegation in a video played in court on Monday by the prosecution.
The video was played in a trial-within-trial to test the voluntariness of the statement made by Hassan while in the custody of the Department of State Services.

EPL: Arsenal Sink Everton

Aaron Ramsey scored a hat-trick to help Arsenal on their way to a convincing 5-1 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Welsh midfielder netted two of his side’s four first-half goals and rounded off the scoring 74 minutes in, as the Gunners returned to winning ways and reduced the gap on the top four to five points.
The Nigerian Community in South Africa has confirmed that two members were killed by a Nigerian early on Saturday.


Emeka Ezinteje, the Secretary of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, told the News Agency of Nigeria on the telephone from Johannesburg, South Africa, that the incident was due to a business dispute.

Obasanjo Playing Politics With Letter To Buhari – Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of playing politics with his recent open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.


Tinubu said this on Friday when he spoke with newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on his was to Awka, the Anambra State capital, for the burial of former Vice President Alex Ekwueme.
