Resident Doctors Embark On Indefinite Nationwide Strike

Members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have embarked on an indefinite nationwide strike.

NARD President, Dr Aliyu Sokomba, announced this while addressing a press conference on Monday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

FG workers threaten strike over unpaid salary arrears

FEDERAL senior civil servants have threatened to down tools over unpaid salary arrears, appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to direct immediate payment of their backlog of salaries and allowances.

The workers said their patience had been overstretched. Speaking through their umbrella body, the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, the workers said the current state of affairs in the country, where sufferings had been lifted to a frightening level, was the time to settle the  arrears to calm all frayed nerves and restore normalcy in the system.

We’ll not be part of FG’s palliatives committee – NLC

Contrary to expectations that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) will promptly join the federal government palliative committee set up to cushion the effect of economic hardship brought about by the recent increase in petrol pump price and electricity tariff, the congress said it would not be part of the committee, citing several factors for distancing itself.
